Ryan Mulvaney
Ryan Mulvaney is a Litigation Attorney at Postman Law, where he brings a disciplined, evidence-driven approach to advocating for people harmed by negligence. His work is guided by a commitment to clarity, accountability, and results for clients navigating some of the most challenging moments of their lives.
At Postman Law, Ryan focuses on complex civil litigation involving serious personal injury and other high-stakes disputes. He supports cases from early investigation through resolution, handling legal research and briefing, discovery, expert coordination, and strategic case development. Ryan routinely analyzes extensive factual records, medical evidence, and damages materials to help move cases forward efficiently and effectively. He approaches every matter with careful attention to detail and a deep respect for the trust clients place in their legal team.
Before joining Postman Law, Ryan practiced as a litigation attorney managing a large docket of bodily injury, premises liability, commercial liability, and insurance-related cases. He handled matters from initial investigation through resolution, directed discovery and motion practice, conducted and defended depositions of expert and lay witnesses, and participated in trials in both state and federal courts. He also developed significant experience navigating lien and subrogation issues, including ERISA reimbursement claims, Medicare and Medicaid liens, and private health-plan subrogation. His work required close analysis of medical records and billing data to evaluate causation, damages, and the reasonableness and necessity of treatment.
In addition to his civilian practice, Ryan serves as a Judge Advocate in the Illinois Army National Guard. In 2025, he deployed overseas to the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility, advising commanders on investigations, claims, ethics, and regulatory compliance in demanding, time-sensitive environments. He regularly assesses legal risk, manages sensitive matters, and mentors junior attorneys and paralegals. Earlier in his military career, Ryan served as an intelligence officer, leading analytical teams responsible for operational risk assessments – experience that continues to shape his methodical, fact-focused approach to litigation.
Earlier in his career, Ryan also worked as a private investigator, conducting liability investigations used to evaluate claims and develop litigation strategy. This investigative background enhances his ability to uncover critical facts, assess credibility, and build strong evidentiary records on behalf of injured clients.
Ryan earned his Juris Doctor from Northern Illinois University College of Law and his Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice Sciences from Illinois State University. He is admitted to practice law in Illinois and before the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois.
Ryan is licensed to practice law in Illinois only.
