Don Lahai

Driven by a deep respect for working people and a belief that every injured worker deserves a skilled, dedicated advocate, Donn has spent more than 20 years fighting for individuals hurt on the job. He brings both legal precision and genuine empathy to each case, ensuring his clients feel informed and supported from the first consultation through resolution.

At Postman Law, Donn focuses his practice on Workers’ Compensation, guiding clients through every stage of the claims process, from initial investigation through hearings and appeals. His background in employment law further strengthens his ability to navigate the full range of challenges injured workers face. Donn has successfully litigated hundreds of Workers’ Compensation claims on behalf of his clients, and his hands-on, communicative approach means they always know where their case stands.

Before joining Postman Law, Donn gained a distinctive perspective by spending time on the defense side, serving as a litigation attorney at AIG Staff Counsel and two private firms defending Workers’ Compensation claims. The vast majority of his career, however, has been devoted to representing unions and their members in claims against employers, a commitment that continues to define his practice today.

During law school at UIC John Marshall, Donn was elected President of the Employment Law Society and appointed to the school’s Disciplinary Board, where he served alongside faculty to uphold the institution’s code of ethics. He is a long-standing member of the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Lawyers Association and, in his personal life, a member of The Legion of St. Michael, a law enforcement motorcycle club founded in Chicago by Chicago Police Officers.

Donn earned his Juris Doctor from UIC John Marshall Law School and his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Business Law from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Don is licensed to practice law in Florida and Illinois only.
