Para nosotros fue algo m\u00e1s que un acto comunitario: fue algo personal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pas\u00e9 varios a\u00f1os viviendo y trabajando en China. Fue una \u00e9poca de formaci\u00f3n en mi vida. All\u00ed conoc\u00ed a mi mujer. Formamos una familia en la que compartimos el aprecio por la cultura estadounidense y china. Hoy hablamos chino a diario en casa. Seguimos viajando para visitar a la familia. Nuestra identidad china no es s\u00f3lo algo que respetamos: es algo que vivimos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cuando nos planteamos d\u00f3nde invertir nuestros esfuerzos de divulgaci\u00f3n, el Chinatown de Chicago ten\u00eda mucho sentido. Sabemos que las comunidades asi\u00e1tico-americanas -especialmente los inmigrantes de primera generaci\u00f3n- suelen estar infrarrepresentadas en el sistema jur\u00eddico. Muchos no han trabajado nunca con un abogado. Algunos dudan en presentar demandas, incluso cuando han sufrido da\u00f1os graves. Esa indecisi\u00f3n es comprensible. Pero tambi\u00e9n significa que demasiadas personas se quedan sin la ayuda que necesitan y merecen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En Postman Law, nuestra misi\u00f3n es hacer el proceso legal m\u00e1s f\u00e1cil, m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido, y m\u00e1s empoderamiento para aquellos que han sido heridos. Y esa misi\u00f3n no cambia en funci\u00f3n de los antecedentes de alguien, el idioma o la comodidad con el sistema legal. En todo caso, se vuelve a\u00fan m\u00e1s importante.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A pesar de la lluvia y el calor extremo, la afluencia a la feria fue incre\u00edble. Ten\u00edamos una cola que daba la vuelta a la manzana para nuestra rueda de premios; nuestros sombreros de lavanda \"Sue Them\" fueron especialmente populares. Fue incre\u00edble verlos paseando por el festival en tantas cabezas. Conocimos a clientes potenciales, nos pusimos en contacto con due\u00f1os de restaurantes (un agradecimiento especial a nuestros vecinos del stand de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.triplecrownchicago.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Restaurante Triple Crown<\/a>), hablamos con los l\u00edderes de la comunidad local y con el concejal del barrio y, lo m\u00e1s importante, escuchamos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Estamos muy agradecidos por la oportunidad de formar parte de este evento, y no hemos hecho m\u00e1s que empezar. Esperamos construir una pr\u00e1ctica centrada en las comunidades chinas de Chicago y m\u00e1s all\u00e1.
